The ELA Honor Society is launching an exciting opportunity to engage your students’ creativity! The ELA T-shirt Design Competition invites students to flex their artistic muscles, design a unique T-shirt, and represent ELA Honor Society on an international scale. The competition is open December 9, 2024 – January 13, 2025, so now is the perfect time to get started!
The T-shirt Design Competition gives students a platform to express themselves through art and design, combining their passion for English Language Arts with visual creativity. It’s a wonderful chance for them to envision and communicate what the 2025 Big Read text and ELA Honor Society mean to them, developing their skills in the process.
The ELA Honor Society offers prizes to winners, adding excitement to the challenge and motivation to participate. Prizes aside, this competition is a valuable addition to a student’s portfolio and resume, showcasing their design skills and involvement in a nationally recognized honor society.
How to Motivate Your Students to Participate
Announce the competition in meetings:
Promote the competition at your chapter meetings and through any digital platforms you use. Share the competition guidelines with students.
Hold a design workshop:
Consider organizing a design brainstorming session where students can sketch initial ideas and collaborate. Even if it’s a casual meetup, it will get students excited and motivated to participate.
