Funding
The ELA Honor Society forms, along with the National English Honor Society and Sigma Kappa Delta, part of the Sigma Tau Delta family of English Honor Societies. Sigma Tau Delta is registered in the USA as a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization.
All ELA Honor Society funding comes from student memberships and 100% of that funding is used to support, develop, and maintain its programs and activities for its student members and Chapter Advisors.
Donations
Since its foundation, Sigma Tau Delta has provided young people with exceptional academic talent, from all backgrounds and circumstances, a unique educational opportunity to engage with English and literature in all its forms.
The ELA Honor Society is permitted by law to receive tax-deductible donations through English Honor Societies. Donations to the ELA Honor Society help it achieve its mission of serving middle school students interested in English and English-related studies.
Donors can choose to donate to one or more of the following areas:
- Convention Paper Awards
- General Scholarship Fund
- Hebestreit Award for Adventure Writing
- Stemmler/Dennis LGBT& Award
