ELA Honor Society

Chapter Advisors Tara Bates and Julia Parish, and ELA Honor Society student members at Sullivan Middle School in Sullivan, IL, created a wonderful tri-fold display documenting their chapter’s activities. The display formed part of the Chapter Display segment of the Sigma Tau Delta Centennial Convention, which was held in St. Louis, MO, April 3-6, 2024.

The chapter at Sullivan Middle School shared texts and photos outlining their academic and creative activities alongside a tri-fold display from their sister NEHS (National English Honor Society) chapter at Sullivan High School. Everyone who saw the display was impressed with the quantity and quality of work being undertaken by ELA Honor Society student members and was in awe of the impact such a young chapter is already having on their school and wider community.

As part of the Chapter Display competition at the convention, Sullivan Middle School ELA Honor Society members competed against university students from the University of North Georgia, Gainesville; the University of Texas at Dallas; Utah State University, Logan; The College of New Jersey; and North Dakota State University, to name just a few.
