Thank You for a Wonderful First Year!

The end of the 2023-2024 school year marks the successful conclusion of the first year of the ELA Honor Society—and what a first year it has been!

Hundreds of students at schools across the USA and beyond have chosen to elevate their achievements in the English Language Arts through ELA Honor Society membership. Student members submitted creative writing about our 2023-2024 Big Read, Nic Stone’s Dear Martin and a profusion of other texts, created Banned Books week social media posts, shared evidence of their literary service projects via our Chapter Showcase, participated in our Literary Halloween activity, and shared photos of their pets for National Pet Month.

We have been able to offer Professional Support Grants throughout the year to our dedicated Chapter Advisors and are pleased to confirm the launch of the Classroom Library Grant in fall 2024. We have also provided opportunities for Chapter Advisors to play a key role in the continued growth and development of the ELA Honor Society through our new Advisory Council.

The ELA Honor Society has been more successful than we ever thought it would be, and that is due to Chapter Advisors, like you, taking a chance on our program. We hope that you have been able to see increased enthusiasm for the English Language Arts as a result.
